Born in Toronto, Ontario January 19, 1911, Jackson was an excellent left winger who teamed with Charlie Conacher and Joe Primeau; signed in 1930 with the Toronto Maple Leafs; a member of the 1931-32 Stanley Cup Leafs; led the league in scoring in 1932-33 (53 points); five times voted to the NHL All Star squad; also gained fame playing with Syl Apps and Gordie Drillon; after the 1938-39 season, traded to New York Americans; finished his career with the Boston Bruins in 1942; also known for his difficulties with management off-ice; Jackson passed away in 1966; elected in 1971. |
