biography

Born in 1875; a sportswriter and editor of the Toronto Star; secretary of the OHA and manager of three (3) Canadian Olympic hockey teams; established the first set of goal nets by dropping a fish net over the goalposts; father of Hall of Fame member Foster Hewitt; died in 1966; elected in 1947.
